Doggie Delites — Heart Healthy Dog Treats
We want your dog to be happy and healthy this new year, so here's a great treat to start your new year off just right. Your dog will surely be begging for more!
Recipe:
1/2 cup of natural peanut butter (be sure to check the label)
1/4 cup honey
1 tablespoon of virgin coconut oil (or olive oil)
1 cup chicken broth
1 cup rolled oats
1 cup whole wheat flour
1 cup all-purpose flour
Instructions:
In a large mixing bowl, add the peanut butter, honey, oil, and the chicken broth-whisk them together until combined.
In a separate bowl, combine the flours and the oats. Mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients.
Place the dough on a floured surface. Roll the dough out to about ¼" thickness.
Use any fun cookie cutter to make treat shapes.
Place the cut out cookies on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake at 350 degrees for 14-16 minutes
Transfer the cookies to a cooling rack until completely cooled. Store in a sealed container until your pup is ready for a heart healthy snack!
